Season 3 Episode 1. Sophia's Quote: "You know, Dorothy, people think if you live to be my age, you should be grateful just to be alive. Well, that's not how it works. You need a reason to get up in the morning. And sometimes even after you find one, life can turn right around and spit in your face. I do not own the Copyrights.

I wanna be loved by You - Blanche Devereaux (The Golden Girls)
Mrs Mcdoogal? 😳
She sings "Darktown Strutters' Ball" much better.
What makes this reel so great is the confidence in Dorothys look explaining Blanche on calling her a tramp and then Blanche skill fully listening to the same. 😂😂
Im not dead yet
I just pray somebody is there for my mother when I go and can explain to her that I loved my mother very much, even though I could never "correct" myself, I love her unconditionally and forever.
My brother passed away suddenly when he was 34. He was not only the first born child, but he was the first born son. I don’t know how many times I heard my mother say something like “my baby is gone” it just breaks my heart every single time 😢
He self destructed. His bad choices are not her fault.
I've read that Lana Turner had the same guilt about her daughter. Her daughter was gay, and she felt such guilt that maybe she had done something wrong to make her daughter gay. I read that they had a discussion about that when Lana was an older woman. Her daughter reassured her that she had not "done" anything to make her that way.
This is a heart wrenching scene, but the St. Olaf story was interesting and funny.
So glad she got a chance to knock one out of the park before the show ended!
As serious as these scene is, all I can see is the girls dressed as a stoplight!
2:12 lol😂
She left out the Coast Guard
I believe this is the season for which Estelle won the Emmy. And rightly so.
I love this
My grandma died of an Alzheimer’s related fall in 2021.
The way Estelle’s voice breaks makes me cry every time 😢
dear woke, thats the way we used to change people's mind on tv...with intelligence, emotion and empathy, not accusation and canceling
wow this scene got to me but Sophia is right even if i get to be my mother's age i still wouldn't understand
How could she treat her DIL like that all her life? She blaming her DIL for her son being a cross dresser?
Well, for accepting it. Keep in mind she was born in Sicily in at the beginning of the 20th century she had different values.
@@johnwheatley5641 She couldn't change her son while he was growing up and she expects his wife to change a grown man? And Sophia is shown as pretty broad minded other times, like with gay, lesbian relationships
But like most sitcoms the show was inconsistent, her DIL laments they never talked and Sophia never knew her grand children but in an earlier episode Sophia stays with Phil and his children to helpt hem
@@user-mc5ch1rs4d yeah pretty much.
❤❤❤
"It's not like having a war hero in the family." With the way the military is these days...
Special moment , lovely moment and wonderful acting
It takes intelligence to be humorous And to understand it.
A great show.
Angela was terrific in consoling Sophia.

I think this is the best show ever written and acted
I remember watching that show and she definitely was a surprise
Sexy and athletic.
Can someone please explain something to me and I need no disrespect what's her son gay did he die of AIDS is that what they're discussing here
No, he was a crossdresser not gay. He died of a heart attack IIRC.
Without sounding rude or bad, but why do people always posts about their dead relatives on youtube? Always under a music video it's always "My grandpa, my dad, my brother died. etc. I remember a RUclips where comments was about the topic and not the emotions, I read comments from movies, shows and books about the characters and not about the emotions.
Very touching scene. Hearing Blanche say "...Like a lady." got me. It reminds me of a somewhat similar scene on a MARY TYLER MOORE episode when office flirt Sue Ellen (coincidently enough, Betty White) finally went on a date with Lou (Ed Asner) and shamelessly kept throwing herself at him. Lou kindly told her how much better than that she was and she was prize worth winning. 🌹🎬📺
I know "Tonight at Eight" is from SHE LOVES ME (Jerry Bock & Sheldon Harnick) , and "If Momma Was Married" is from GYPSY (Jule Styne & Stephen Sondheim), but does anyone know which musical -- if any -- "Mama's Got a Date" is from?
Love the music. Simple and delicate, like this scene. Romance
This is one of many wonderful episodes I liked Sophia reaction it saddens me to fully understand where she's coming from the older you get the more you count your blessings just to wake up every day and you always have to find reasons to wake up even if it's just that one special person you have even as a friend
That was too much 😢😢😢😢
The wardrobe people did such a great job on this show. Especially with Blanche's loungewear, it's all so pretty.
The Air Force is searching for several pilots who stole an experimental aircraft to fly with Blanche Devereaux - implied but not stated by Dorothy Spornak
😂Where was character Blanche determined to take that Tuna Quiche to while she was wearing one of her silks to go with a pair of heels? To a church potluck dinner to share with others maybe? The crown outlawed potlaches up until 1951 in Canada. 2 years before queen Elizabeth II was crowned queen. Was that only because the crown before that wanted to do all of the hiring of cooks there instead too? A mystery now that may never be solved. At any rate the character Dorothy sure did know how to calm down Blanche with the right words around all of the controversies concerning Blanche's ambitions.
She's describing chartreuse, not magenta. Magenta is a violet/fuschia, no green, no yellow.
Rue McClanahan played one of the most complex characters of all time. I miss her, but I am grateful both to her and the fact that her wonderful performances are still available to this day.
Betty White as Rose is my most favorite character in this show. And Sophia her Sarcastic and Silly stories.
Best actresses on this show
Seeing all these clips we can see that they must have had such a good time on this show. ❤
So Dorothy had both an aunt and a sister-in-law named Angela
And this, Blanche, is why you keep striking out in your golden years. I love this show!
This is why I named my cat Chester just so I can go “SHARE WITH ME, CHESTER!!!” When I want lovins lmao 😂
Gorgeous.. AND talented..
